The fifth annual Made in Hollywood Honors (MIHH) were presented last week, to Disney's 'Inside Out' and Paramount's 'Anomalisa' by the Los Angeles City Council and MIHH partner organizations on the Heart of Hollywood Terrace at 1600 VINE which stands on the historic site of the Hollywood Brown Derby at Hollywood & Vine.


The MIHH program salutes films nominated for Academy Awards for Best Picture or Best Animated Feature, which were produced and filmed in California.
Additionally, legendary composer/conductor John Williams became the first recipient of the 'MIHH Lifetime Contribution to Hollywood Tribute', and producers of 'Straight Outta Compton' received the first 'MIHH Diversity Leadership Award', described by MIHH Host and Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell as encouraging more inclusive employment practices, showcasing the diversity of California-based productions.

The Made In Hollywood Honors program was created to bring Hollywood home to Hollywood, Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell reminded the audience of over 100 industry professionals.
MIHH Co-Host, Actor/SAG-AFTRA LA VP, Esai Morales, urged the return of filmmaking to California, speaking to the human value of filmmaking, which allows artists and craftspeople the luxury of going home to their families each night.

Six notable film industry entities sponsor the MIHH program and its purpose of restoring Hollywood as the world center of film and television production.
They are SAG-AFTRA, the California Film Commission, FilmL.A., Teamsters Local 399, the Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund and the Producers Guild of America, along with MIHH partner and co-sponsor, 1600 VINE. Also present to lend his support was Kevin James, Director of the Mayor's Office of Film and TV Production.
