Amid escalating tensions arising out of Russia's attack on Ukraine which has led to unknown number of human losses, so far and certainly hundred thousands of civilians, to fleet to border countries such as Poland and Romania (members of the European Union), under panic and the fear of being killed by the bombing, France has ans still deploying efforts to stop this war, whose battlefield is close to the gates of Europe. Two border countries are particularly concerned, about the escalate of Russia’s assault ongoing in Ukraine, are Georgia and Moldavia.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the light of these worries, President Macron, keeps deploying extra efforts, to appease the situation and keeps on the edge, making phone calls to his East European counterparts. This is why, « The President of the French Republic (Emmanuel MACRON) spoke by telephone with the President of Georgia Ms. Salome ZOURABICHVILI, then with the President of the Republic of Moldova Ms. Maia SANDU, this Saturday, February 26, 2022. These two meetings were an opportunity to take stock of developments in the situation in Ukraine and the responses of the international community to Russia's aggression.
During the two exchanges, the President of the Republic reaffirmed his determination to support our partners in the eastern neighborhood of the European Union against any attempt at tension and destabilization. We stand with Moldova and Georgia to defend their sovereignty and security. They continue to follow developments closely and remain in contact.
