USPA NEWS - L'Aviation Club de France was a Gambling Club in Central Paris (104 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in the 8e Arrondissement of Paris - France). The Club opened in 1907 and was widely regarded as a Classic Gambling Site. In 2005, the Grand Prix de Paris leg of the World Poker Tour took place at the Aviation Club. The Main Games played at the Aviation Club were : Poker 21 (Black Jack Parisian Style), Punto Banco, Poker à 3 cartes, Poker Caribbean Stud, poker Texas Hold'Em, Baccarat, Backgammon). The Club was closed in 2014, after a Raid by the Police, and placed in Liquidation in February 2015.... In 2018, The Barrière Group obtains the Authorization of the Ministry of the Interior to open a Gaming Club in the Old Premises of l'Aviation Club de France....

Since the First Day of the Aviation Club de France's Closure, a great number of French and International Personalities campaigned in favor of the Reopening of the Club, with the Hope that the Grand Instance Court in Paris would allow Poker to get back on what is considered to be the World's Most Beautiful Avenue and, at the same time, help the ACF's 213 Employees to keep their Jobs... Yet, despite the Club's Concerns, the Support from the International Poker Community, and the Jury Award the ACF won at the 2014 France Poker Awards held in Deauville, the Number 104 of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées was no longer going to be Home to some of the Amazing Poker Games it held during its 100 Years of History.

The History of Gambling in France dates all the way back to at least the 1500s when the Queen was added to Decks of Cards. The French Deck was the Forerunner of the 52-Card Deck used today all over the World. The Lottery has also existed in France since the 16th Century. It comes as no surprise that Gambling Proper was introduced as a Gentleman´s Game to the now United States of America. It was the French Influence along the Mississippi Trade route that has continued to broadly impact the World.
