THE STORY
The Film follows a Small-Town Mommy Blogger Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) who tries to solve the Disappearance of her Mysterious and Rich "Best Friend" Emily Nelson, a High-Powered Fashion PR Executive (Blake Lively). Emily's Husband, Professor/Writer Sean Townsend (Henry Golding) joins her in this Thriller. The Case, as she tells her Few Thousand Viewers, is that her missing Best Friend Emily vanished after asking Stephanie to watch her Son (Ian Ho). The Flashback tells the Truth : Emily was no one´s Friend. She was a Bully, a Drunk, and a Narcissist....

Paul Feig Films are about Women discovering they´re capable of Summoning Awesome, Terrifying Powers. Anna Kendrick makes Stephanie Naive without making her Dumb. One of the Pleasures of the Film is that it gradually reveals Stephanie to us even as she´s discovering Things about Herself. Blake Lively has her Homents too, many of them Physical. Stephanie accepts as a True Friendship what Everyone else sees as Emily taking Advantage of a Mom hardwired to help with Anyone´s Kids.... Anyway, to be seen !
